Equipment That Works For You
Having the right excavation equipment makes all the difference when it comes to safe, efficient excavation. At MG Earthworks and Plant Hire, we supply a modern fleet across the Mid North Coast, including Coffs Harbour and Macksville, designed to meet the needs of residential, commercial, and rural projects. Our tracked dozer, Caterpillar D4G 2004, provides the strength and stability for land shaping, road preparation, and bulk earthmoving.
For precision digging and site work, we offer two track-mounted excavators — a Kobelco SK75SR (2012) and a Hitachi ZX85 (2020), both in the 8–11.9 tonne range. Tippers, including a Mitsubishi FV547 bogie drive up to 12 tonnes, make transport and spoil removal straightforward. Completing the fleet is a 2008 Kenworth T358 truck-mounted water cart, with a 9,000–16,000 litre capacity for dust suppression, compaction, and bulk water supply. Together, these machines deliver performance, reliability, and value on-site. Call 0467 221 266 to discuss your project needs and secure the right equipment today.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes a tracked dozer useful on excavation projects?
Tracked dozers are ideal for moving large amounts of soil and shaping land quickly. Their wide tracks distribute weight, giving excellent stability on uneven ground. They’re especially effective for road preparation, creating building pads, or clearing rural blocks. Because they push rather than lift, they handle bulk earthmoving more efficiently than excavators in open areas. This makes them a cost-effective choice for large-scale groundwork.
How do mid-sized excavators suit both residential and commercial jobs?
Excavators in the 8–11.9 tonne range strike a balance between power and manoeuvrability. They’re compact enough for residential sites with tight access but still strong enough for trenching and site cuts on larger projects. Their versatility means they can take on footings, service lines, and drainage work. Attachments like augers or tilt buckets expand their capabilities further. This makes them a go-to machine for mixed-use excavation projects.
Why is a tipper truck important for excavation efficiency?
A tipper streamlines excavation by transporting spoil and materials quickly and safely. Without one, projects often stall while debris is managed by smaller loads. Bogie drive trucks, such as a 12-tonne capacity model, carry larger volumes in fewer trips. This reduces downtime and labour costs while keeping sites clear for ongoing work. They’re essential for projects where waste removal or material delivery is a key factor.
Practical PErformance
Reliable Equipment For Every Project
Excavation equipment is only as good as the results it delivers, which is why our machines are carefully maintained and chosen to suit local conditions. The Caterpillar dozer provides excellent ground stability, making it ideal for site preparation and larger earthworks in rural and commercial areas. Excavators in the 8–11.9 tonne class are versatile enough for tight-access residential sites while still powerful enough for trenching, foundations, and drainage work. Our tipper handles transport with ease, moving spoil or materials quickly to keep projects flowing.
